For my novel 'De stille stad' (The Silent City) 2006. I went in November 2004 to Tokyo to do a research. I concentrated on everything concerning fish and hostesses. My notes (only in Dutch) from this trip and weblog from those month.
In 1999 and 2000 I did research in Bombay and Calcutta. This trip was one of the most amazing research I ever did. My full report in PDF,m in English or in Dutch.
I did an art project in a little town in The Netherlands 'OLDENZAAL', which lead up to 25 columns for the local paper (only in Dutch - first one is last in the row. Start in the back when you read). Two years later I came back on request to give a lecture in the library.
All by myself I made the 'making of' of the Dutch film The making of of the Dutch feature 'De Passievrucht'. I used this opportunity to learn a lot about directing a feature and followed mainly the director.
