Next week I have a deadline. Then my publisher wants to read the first version of ‘The Silent City’ (my new novel). Therefore I have to write every day, to be ready in time. The weird thing is that I don’t know my publisher so well, because he is new for me.
Till now I was dealing with my former publisher. But like many other Dutch publishing houses, they are part of the big transformation game. The big ones eat up nice small ones; new small ones emerge but are again part of a big one. Independence is far away and nobody seems to stay on the same place. But while I work in my study, it is quiet, and I know one day peace will return.
