Finally I’m in the Danish harbor town from where I’ll sail to the Faroe Islands. My trip up to here had to be interrupted because I still had to do a casting-round for my new film. At the last moment I found the lead actress. She is fantastic, but because I think she doesn’t know yet herself, I can’t tell who it is.
In my small hotel room I’m continuing the preparation of my research trip, making lists with all my wishes, desires and what I hope to achieve the coming weeks. In my thoughts I’m already there, but in reality I’m still here, in a town like many other towns in Europe, with exactly the same chain stores and boring shopping malls as all over. The big harbor makes the only difference. I hope that the people in Tórshavn kept something of the original character of the place.
