Not even a day I waited. I jumped immediately deep into my new project: ‘writing my new novel’. Like for all my projects, I did a lot of research. In October and November I went to Florida to research several different retirement communities.
Now, in the silence of my studio, I’m rereading all my notes and select ideas and finds I want to use. I write them on post-its and stick them – grouped in clusters – onto my window. The clusters are: characters, environment, age and denial of age, activities, the protagonist, the antagonist, in the community and out of the community.
Every day more little papers are stuck to my window. The sun gets blocked by them, but in my head the sun shines very strong.
